Who gets the reduced rate?
- Children aged 5 to 16.
- Over 65s.
- Students up to 25 with valid ID.
Free admission: groups and time slots
Free entry, always with proof of eligibility:
- Under 5s.
- People with a recognised disability of 33% or more and their companion, where essential.
- People who are unemployed and can prove it.
- Large families.
- ICOM and ICOMOS members and official tourist guides.
- Serving teachers.
- 18 May (International Museum Day) and 12 October (Spain’s National Day).
Free time slot: Wednesday and Sunday from 15:00 to 19:00 (until 18:00 from October to March) for European Union citizens, residents and Ibero-American citizens with proof of status.
Free tickets are issued at the palace ticket office and cannot be booked online during the free time slot.

Access closes one hour before the monument: last entry around 18:00 in summer (April-September) and around 17:00 in winter.
Guided tours and audio guide
The guided tour adds €8 to the corresponding ticket and lasts about one hour. Published times for 2026:
- Spanish: Tuesday to Sunday at 10:30 and 13:30.
- English: Tuesday to Sunday at 12:00.
- German: Tuesday to Friday at 12:30.
There is also an audio guide for rent at the ticket office (GVAM service); the official website does not publish its price.
